Born and raised in Michigan, JoAnne graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in Wyandotte. She married Lloyd Affholter, Jr. on September 15th, 1951 and together they raised eight children in the Wyandotte and Trenton communities.
Lloyd and JoAnne then relocated to Florida in 1984. The pair thoroughly enjoyed boating and entertaining friends aboard their boats, Meandher and Heaven Can Wait. Whether in the slip or out at sea, JoAnne was the ultimate First Mate, ensuring everyone on board felt like family.
JoAnne’s family was her greatest love. She is survived by her children: Suzanne and son-in-law Kevin Connolly, Debbie and son-in-law David Dulimba, Lloyd C. Affholter III, Larry Affholter, Nancy DeFroscia, Ann Adams, and Eric Affholter.
She was Grandmother to Jennifer (Angelo) Gonzalez, Aimee (Gerome) Dulimba, Amanda (Chad) Brown, Larry (Jessica) Affholter, Jr., Andy Louderback, Zachary DeFroscia, Kaelen (Adam) Connolly, Emily DeFroscia, and Meggie (Derrick) DeFroscia, and Great Grandmother to Alexander and Madison Gonzalez, Mackenzie Dulimba, Conrad Wright, Dylan and Luna Affholter, and Kolton and Kaden Bomar. Baby JoAnne Bomar, lovingly named after her Great Grandmother, will arrive this spring.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 60 years, Lloyd, son Patrick Affholter, daughter-in-law Chrissey Affholter, and her parents and siblings.
