Joanne M. Lancaster, 74, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 19, 2016 after a short, brave battle with cancer. She was born on May 17, 1941, in Kalamazoo, MI and predeceased by her father, Earl Rushmore, Sr. and mother, Hazel Christensen. For 43 years, she was the beloved wife of Tyrone Lancaster, mother of Sherri Langford-Steegstra (Randy) of Lighthouse Point, FL and Tyson Lancaster (Sheila) of Biloxi, MS, and Oma to Summer and Hunter Steegstra, and Dylan and Tyson, Jr. Lancaster. Joanne is also survived by her loving sisters, Judy Pandillo and Janette Coburn of St. Augustine, FL, brother, Earl Rushmore, Jr. (Beth) of Lighthouse Point, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She loved the land and sea, and as a Registered Nurse, she spent her last 35 years lovingly caring for her patients.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 29 from 6-8 at Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home, 217 E Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441
