I have already shared once but this has been on my mind.
Marty was a friend of the family but saying that almost demeans the relationship. He was family. I thought of him as my uncle, Libby, as my aunt, and Betty, Ernie, Donna, and Allan, as cousins. Some of my fondest childhood memories are those I spent with the Freedmans. We kids slept in the trailer, which I loved as a kid. Marty would take me out with his CB radio. He always stressed that it wasn't a toy but he helped me get a handle and taught me some of the slang (much of which has changed with time like the DOUBLE NICKEL BRIDGE). He always made me feel beautiful as he flirted outrageously my whole life. He was an incredible friend to my father. He would drop everything to come to the rescue no matter what his own physical state was. I won't bother with the hammer story.  Others will post it.
Marty was a wonderful man and a wonderful friend. He wasn't perfect but no man is. He was a perfect friend to my dad.  He gave his full heart in everything he did and I will miss him terribly. Now he can kibbitz with those on the other side and lighten their eternity. 

My Father was a man among men .He loved life and lived it to the fullest. To say he was perfect would be a lie. The was a loyal and loving man to his wife for over 72 years. He raised four children whom he loved and adored him. He was blessed to have twelve Grandchildren and doubled blessed with eleven Great Grandchildren. He may be gone now but he will live through my eyes now.........

I cannot remember a specific memory that stands out but I loved visiting with Jess. He always made me laugh and these days that is a precious commodity. I will miss him.

My father will miss "Mondays with Marty," and he will never forget Marty's fierce loyalty, and how, when Dad had his near death experience, Marty was ready to beat his door down with a hammer to get to him. I will never forget the love and kindness shown by both Marty and Libby, treating me as family, and giving me love, support, and a place to stay until Dad's condo got remediated while he was recovering in the hospital from the aforementioned near death experience. I count myself lucky to have been treated like a part of the Freedman mishpacha, and I'll miss hearing him call me zeeskeit.   

Too many memories to list but
1. I can remember Marty flirting with me and any other female.  He was such a tease.
2. I remember all the visits to the house in Philly when we  kids slept out in the trailer.
3. I can remember him letting me talk on the CB radio. We had lots of fun with it.
4. His devotion to Libby no matter what was inspiring. 
5. His friendship to my father was amazing. He came with a hammer to break down the door if necessary to help my dad. Another time he came with Libbys nurse.

I will miss his ready wit and sarcasm.  It  always made me smile.
