Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 9, 1929, Matina went to heaven on December 8, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Leite, parents, James Keranakis and Myrtle Currin Banelis, and brother, William (Bill) Keranakis.
Matina was a joy to be with and had been a professional vocalist and entertainer in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Her love of music kept her young and vibrant. The wife of Army officer, Albert, her family moved often, living in Maryland, Kentucky, North Carolina, Germany, Tennessee with Matina and Albert finally retiring in Florida. Her greatest loves were her family, music, reading The Bible and her Lord Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her two children, Harvey Leite (Annie) of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Carole Brennan (Jim) of Franklin, Tennessee, four grandchildren, Carrie Tucker (Tom), Kristin Hammond, Chris Leite Joy Leite and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Deefield Beach, FL on January 11, 2019 at 9:30AM followed by a private Interment of Ashes at The South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
