Norman Charles Spencer, 76, of Deerfield Beach, FL, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023.

He was born in Bradley, Maine on November 29,1946 to Arlo Norman Spencer and Frances Cota Spencer.

Norman Spencer graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1965, and the University of Vermont receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology. He went on to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology and lastly received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

He was married to his wife of 41 years, Sharon Beasley Spencer, on January 21, 1982.

Norman had a career in the Maritime Industry and worked for Eller & Company in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 38 years, among other industry companies. In his most recent position with Eller & Co., Norman served as the Senior Vice President, before retiring in 2008.

He was a member of the Port Everglades Association, serving as President for several years. Norman had a passion for fly fishing, golfing, anything American history related, and spending time with his dogs. Norman was an active member of the US Army, 23rd Infantry Division, Americal Division, from January 15, 1969 to November 20, 1970 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Spencer; his children, Brittany Spencer Tomczyk, Kristen Marie Spencer, and Holly Noel Cooke; his son-in-law, Cody Tomczyk; his grandchildren, Connor Nicholas Rogers, Henry Norman Tomczyk and Walter Arlo Tomczyk.

Memorial arrangements will be announced. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cause very close to Norman’s heart, Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
