

Oscar was born on April 7, 1974, in La Paz, Bolivia, to Gonzalo and Zulema Frias. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He married his beloved wife Luz Deisy Burgos in 2011. Oscar co-founded Ministerios Betesda Christian Church with his brother, Gonzalo E. Frias, in 1996. He faithfully served as Senior Pastor of Ministerios Betesda for 27 years, since its foundation.
Oscar was the proud father of Johanna Ariette Frias and Abby Elisa Frias. He instilled in them a love for God and His word, as well as a love for music, encouraging Johanna’s passion for playing the violin and Abby’s passion for percussions. His daughters remember him as a loving, caring, hands-on father who delighted in spending quality time with them and encouraging their creativity, imagination, and sense of adventure.
Pastor Oscar was an accomplished preacher, sharing the gospel at various congregations around the world. He was also a brilliant writer who authored several books with profound allegories masterfully woven into dynamic and captivating storylines. He enjoyed writing short stories for, and sometimes with, his wife, daughters, and niece, showcasing the fun-loving, witty, and whimsical side of his storytelling.
He was a warm and generous individual who loved serving his congregation and was passionate about teaching sound doctrine and glorifying God through sharing his deep knowledge of scripture.
Pastor Oscar is survived by his parents, Gonzalo and Zulema; his wife, Luz Deisy; his daughters, Johanna and Abby; his siblings, Gonzalo Jr. and Ximena; and his niece and nephews, Elizabeth “Libby,” Esteban, and Kade. He is preceded in death by his younger sister, Zulemita Elena Frias.
He will be deeply missed by his family, congregation, community, friends, and all whose lives were touched through his ministry.
