Close, Paul, 45 years old, of Coral Springs, passed away on November 30, 2016. Born to Hugh and Teresa Close, Paul is survived by his wife Jamie Close, his children Conal, Darragh, Alex and Ava James; his mother Teresa; his brothers Peter, James, Thomas, and his sister Rosemary Finlay; preceded in his death by his brother, Hugh.
Paul was born in Ireland. He graduated from Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College Knock. Paul was one of six children and enjoyed a large extended family with 20 Aunts and Uncles and many cousins from both his mother and father’s side. He was always surrounding himself with children and the happiest when spending time with family. “He was our rock; he was the best of us by far”.
Paul moved to the United States over 20 years ago. Always a hard worker, he was a trained electrician and spent the last three years working for Hypower, Inc. where he had many friends.
Paul was a devoted husband and father. He often described himself as blessed when talking about his wife and children. Not being from the US, Paul was enchanted with his Southern family and had a special smile for “Maw and Paw”. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on home improvement projects, nightly walks and socializing with his neighbors. Paul’s sense of humor was well known- jumping out from behind trees to watch his children shriek, the look in his eyes and his smile when he delivered a comment or asked a question to which there was no good reply- he could make anyone laugh. He was always quick to help friend, neighbor or stranger. Paul was thoughtful and strong and the one people turned to first when in need.
Paul marched to his own drum. He was strong willed and gentle; he was funny and kind; he was loving but strict with his sons so they’d grow up to be good men, and already protective of his girl “little Miss Ava James” (lesson: don’t send pictures of her in a shipping box). Paul loved his wife, Jamie (who now knows 12 different ways to make potatoes) and doing DIY projects together. His signature look was a favorite t-shirt shirt, jeans, phone on his belt and his boots on his feet. With wife on his arm and his kids by his side he enjoyed a picnic or party with his Marlboro’s and Corona.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
