Raymond Owens Jr.

Raymond was a proud veteran who honorably served in the United States Air Force from December 1967 to December 1971. Following his military service, he dedicated over 20 years working for the city as an inspector, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to serving his community. He later continued his years of service by working for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 15 years.

Raymond was a man of deep faith and purpose. In 1997, he founded Miracles Still Happen Church, fulfilling a calling that had been present since childhood. Even as a young boy, Raymond would often play church by himself, pretending to be a minister and preaching with passion and joy. At a young age, he met Pastor Hopkin, whose ministry greatly inspired him, and he faithfully followed his teachings for many years.

Raymond was blessed with a large family and shared a close bond with his siblings. He was preceded in death by his sister, Flora Mae Bilingslea, and his brothers, Willie H. McMillian, Lewis Beckett Sr., and Robert James Beckett. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Beatrice McMillian, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife, Shumie Owens; his children, Apryll(Hugie)Williams and Ramon (Kellisha) Owens ; and his beloved grandchildren, Pryll, Rayna, Ramon Jr, Raymond III , and Ramia. He also leaves behind a host of family members, friends, church family, and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his love, wisdom, strength, faith, and memories will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Visitation will be held at Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home, 217 E. Hillsboro Blvd, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441, on May 29, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Miracles Still Happen Church, 1406 NE 2nd St, Pompano Beach, FL 33060, on May 30, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
