I did not personally know Richard. But his lovely wife, Judy, is a friend. I know she loved him dearly, and towards the end was with him almost constantly to take care of and comfort him. My heart goes out to her and the family. I am aware of the sad feelings they are now undergoing as I went through the same situation not that long ago. Your friends love you, Judy, and we are all holding you in our hearts at this time and for always.

My first 5 years out of college was spend in Missouri. During that time I was able to serve in the Columbia, Missouri congregation under Mr. Rand's leadership.
I have so many wonderful memories of my time there and truly appreciated the wisdom, kindness and love he showed to me as single man at the time. He had an amazing sense of humor. He taught me a lot about service, finances, automobiles and just enjoying life. We spend a lot of time together serving the lovely people in Columbia. Thank you for the memories.
May the Lord bless Mrs. Rand and family with peace and comfort during this time.

Over the years, I had many wonderful and enlightening conversations with Dad. He was the easiest of people to talk to. He was funny, pithy, caring and thoughtful. He could talk about everything from classical music to world news, from cars to financial advice. He was truly one of a kind. Irreplaceable. Though Dad is resting for now and is deeply missed, he will be back. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet, for the trumpet shall sound! We look forward to that day.

He defined the office of Pastor. A living, caring and dedicated servant who selflessly gave of himself to always help others. Never knew a stranger. Was never too busy or tired to help. He will be greatly missed for now and remembered always.

Sleep well our friend your work is done for now and your race is finished.

Love you

I thank God for having known Richard all these years. He was a wonderful man, minister and friend. Whenever I played the piano, he was my greatest critic and inspired me to play better. I will miss him.
