Walter William Stewart

Walter William Stewart, also known as Bill, passed away on September 27, 2023, in Boca Raton, FL, at the age of 93. He was born on December 25, 1929, in Wheeling, WV. Bill was an independent, optimistic, and outgoing individual who could engage and talk to most anyone.

Bill was a beloved restauranteur and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He had a generous spirit and liked to entertain and have fun with friends. Bill was also an inventor and amateur photographer, with a deep appreciation for nature. He had a passion for exploring new places and was a nature lover at heart.

In his educational journey, Bill attended Pompano Beach High School and obtained a chemistry degree at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Bill proudly served in the US Army as a medic, specifically with the 101st Airborne Division. His military associations and two years of service demonstrate his dedication and commitment to his country.

After his military service, Bill pursued a career as a chemist and inventor at Avisun in Marcus Hook, MD. When his Uncle Bill passed away, he became owner of the Riverview Restaurant, where he made lifelong friends, restored a historic former gambling casino and restaurant, and made customers always feel welcome.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed traveling, photography, and exploring different cuisines as a restaurant connoisseur. He was also an avid internet user, always curious to learn and discover new things.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29, at 10AM at the Boca Raton Municipal Cemetery, located at 449 SW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33432.

Bill is survived by his son, Bill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Broward County Humane Society.

We remember Bill as an optimistic, fun-loving, and generous individual who left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will be cherished by all who loved him.
