

Adrien “Ace” Joseph Tytgat was born in Muelebeke, Belgium on October 6, 1923 to Adhemar Tytgat and Magdalena Hellebuyck Tytgat. His Family immigrated to the United States when Ace was two years old. He is survived by his wife Sue, two sons – Adrien J. Tytgat II, of Norman and Gregory John Tytgat, of Oklahoma City and a daughter, Beverly Ann Briggs of Australia, step daughter Kara Miranda and step son, Rick J. Garcia. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters and a granddaughter. Ace passed away on May 28, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. At the time of his death, he was a resident at the Norman Veteran’s Center.
Ace served this country that he so dearly loved during World War II and during the Korean Conflict and he was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was a true Patriot and Proud to be an American. He never heard the Star Spangled Banner sung without tearing up.
