The son of Ellis and Ruby Kimbrough. Alvin was born May 1, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Alvin joined the Navy at age 17 after high school. While in the Navy, he served on the crash crew as a fire fighter. In the military he completed Aviation Fleet Preparatory School in Spain. He received a National Defense Service Medal. Alvin thoroughly enjoyed traveling to places and lived in Spain for 4 years as well as many U.S. states. Alvin was a history buff and enjoyed intellectual conversations. He was also bilingual in English and Spanish.
Alvin was an avid coin and stamp collector. He really loved different genres of music and attended numerous concerts in his lifetime.
Alvin is survived by his wife Becky of 35 years, his two daughters Jennifer Groff and significant other Mike Ramsey and Amanda Anderson and husband Aaron; 8 grandchildren, Nathan, AJ and wife Joy, Devyn and husband Destin, Dixie and significant other Anthony, Autymn, Alex, Zach and significant other Skylar, and Christopher and significant other Grace; 3 great grandchildren Matthew, Zayden and Zya; as well as his sons Robert and Chad, and daughters Angela and Stephanie; additional grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ellis and Ruby Kimbrough; his brothers James and Carl Kimbrough.
Viewing will be at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, Oklahoma on Friday February 14, 2025, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday February 15, 2025 at Bill Eisenhour, 4000 SE 29th street Del City, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery 6001 NW Grand Blvd. Oklahoma city, Oklahoma.
