Angela Grace Teel

She was born on September 24, 1944 to Peter and Mary Ann Bommarito in St. Louis, Missouri.

Angela met Wilson Holt when they were both in a mutual friend’s wedding. It didn’t take long for them to realize they had found something special. Just three months after meeting, they were married on May 14, 1966. Together, they were blessed with five children: Lisa, Roxanne, Leandra, Peter, and Mary.

In 1978, Angela and Wilson moved their family from California to Snohomish, Washington, where they purchased a home from brethren in the church. Within a few years, they began assembling with them, and both Angela and Wilson were baptized. Angela was baptized into the General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn on November 30, 1983, beginning an even deeper walk with the Lord that would guide her for the rest of her life.

In 1992, her first husband, Wilson, went to be with the Lord. Angela continued moving forward with faith and strength. She went back to school and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education while continuing to raise her youngest daughter. She also traveled amongst the brethren every chance she got. Traveling with her children and grandchildren was something she treasured, and she filled those years with adventures, laughter, and precious memories that her family will carry with them forever.

Angela had many works for the Lord throughout her life. She served as a midwife’s helper and loved being there to support new mothers and their precious babies. But one of her most joyful labors over the years was something that may have seemed simple, but meant so much to so many: writing and mailing birthday and anniversary cards to loved ones and brethren all across the country. Angela made sure people knew they were remembered and loved. She never needed a special occasion to let someone know they were important to her… although she certainly did love a good reason to send a card!

She worked in the field of Early Childhood Education, putting her degree and her love for children to use, until she met and married Bro. Floyd Teel from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2004.

Angela and Floyd met at the Stillwater hayride. They were blessed with 16 years together, enjoying their combined children, grandchildren, and the many, many friends God brought into their lives. They shared a love for music, and Angela did her very best to keep him young… which, knowing Angela, probably kept life interesting for both of them!

Angela loved God with all her heart, mind, and body. She was an amazing example to so many throughout her life and a strong soldier for the Lord. Her faith was not simply something she talked about; it was something she lived every day.

Angela was also gifted with many talents. She was a beautiful painter and lovingly crocheted countless items for her family and the brethren. Baby blankets were her favorite to make and give, wrapping little ones in something made with her own hands and filled with love. She enjoyed cooking and baking for anyone and everyone, and there was always room at her table for one more.

Angela also loved playing card games with friends and family. For many years, she gathered with her friends each month to play, creating memories filled with laughter, fellowship, and probably a little friendly competition along the way.

Everyone who spent time with Angela became family very quickly. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, loved, and like they belonged. She was proud to be known as “Grandma” and “Mom” to many across the nation, and her family extended far beyond those connected to her by blood.

Angela lived a life of faith, love, service, laughter, and generosity. She gave freely of her time, her talents, her home, and most of all, her heart. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the lives of her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and brethren who were blessed to know her.

Though she will be deeply missed, we can rejoice knowing that her race has been finished, her work is complete, and she is now resting with the Lord she loved and faithfully served. Her memory will continue to live on in every card she sent, every meal she prepared, every baby blanket she crocheted, every song she enjoyed, every game she played, every adventure she shared, and in the countless hearts she made feel like family.

Angela is survived by Lisa and husband Aaron West, Peter Holt, Mary and husband Robert Dobbs, Wanda Eller, Dee and husband Shawn Lewis, Brenda and husband Curtis Miller, Chelsea and husband Brandon Wray, Katherine and husband Chance DeBoor , Alex Swezey and Fiance Yzabel, Dylan Swezey, Evan West, Whitney West, Mason Holt, Leyland Holt, Winter Holt, Jeffrey Teel and wife Charlotte, Jeremy Teel and wife Nicole, Ramie and husband Jeromy Carter, Jake Miller and wife Cassandra, Brad Miller and wife Jewell, Kimberly and husband Kellen Chunn, Kaitlyn and husband Clint Burson, Jessica and husband Robert Castor , Emily and husband David Kirkpatrick, Anna and husband Dusty Long,. Many great grandkids, we would be here all day. Her brother Peter Bommarito and his wife Anne. Many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mom and dad Peter and Mary Ann Bommarito, first husband Wilson Holt, second husband Floyd Teel, her brother Anthony Bommarito, sister Mary Ann Mack, Sister and brother in law Dan and Stephanie Menard, daughters Roxanne and Leandra.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1st, 6pm-8pm at General Assembly & Church of the First Born, 3333 NW Beverly Lane, Newcastle, OK 73065

Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 2nd at 10am at the General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn in Newcastle, OK with Bro. Mike Boscacci & Bro. Alex Washington officiating. Angela’s favorite color was blue, the family requests that you wear any shade of blue to the funeral to honor her, if you would like.

Lunch will follow the service immediately at the church.

Pallbearers will be Chris West, Brandon West, Eddie Boomer, Mason Holt, David Kirkpatrick, Brandon Wray, Chance DeBoor, and Matthew Dobbs.

Honorary pallbearers: Bud Stokes, Eric Cobb.

Snohomish Pallbearers: Mason Holt, Alex Swezey, Dylan Swezey, Evan West, Taylor West and Mike Renshaw.
