Anice “Kay” Rose, 74, of Midwest City, OK, peacefully passed away on Sunday, 21 May 2023.
Kay was born July 11 1948 in Oklahoma City the second child to J.D. and Maurine Rose. After graduation from Del City High School in 1966, she enjoyed some travel before settling back in the Mid-Del area.
Kay was a private and quiet person, but also witty with a great sense of humor. She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly passionate. She loved her canine companions, music, travel, problem solving, and of course family. She was strong-willed and stubborn, but these traits suited her. Her strength undoubtedly served her well raising a son as a single mother while having a successful career. Kay served her nation as a civil service electronics mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring in 2008 with 35 years of service.
Kay was preceded in death by her father J.D. Rose, mother Maurine Rose and cousin/life long friend Becky Kirkland.
Kay is survived by her son Darin Rose, daughter-in-law Melissa Rose, grandsons Jacob, Kyle and Anthony. She is also survived by older sister Janice Maxwell, younger brother and sister-in-law Steve and Laura Rose, younger sister Renae Applegate as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Oklahoma Humane Society at Okhumane.org.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held 3 June at 2pm.
