Arlene Scott was born May 6, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI. Her parents were Dr. Oscar Finch and Donna Finch. She passed from this life June 29, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Arlene graduated from high school in Beacon, New York and received degrees from Bethany Nazarene College and OU. She taught Kindergarten in Oklahoma City for 22 years. She married Jack Scott in 1974 and moved with him to Shawnee in 1978. She taught 1st grade in Shawnee for 12 years. Following her retirement from teaching and Jack’s retirement from Shawnee Muffler Shop they lived in Eufaula and South Padre Island, TX before returning to Shawnee. Jack proceeded Arlene in death in 2008. In 2018, Arlene returned to Bethany. During the 4 years she lived at Southern Plaza she reestablished friendships from her college years and early years of teaching. She also made many new friends. Arlene was a friend to many, always fun to be with. She is survived by her adopted family, John and Carol Wilson, Serena and Cash Watson and the Greg Ward family; stepdaughter, Debbie Hughes and family; her nieces and families in Nebraska; and many, many friends.
