Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Arthur Victor (“Pop”) Richardson, 89, passed peacefully on Nov 7, 2021. Art was born March 7, 1932, in Rush Springs to James F. Richardson and Beatrice G. Daugherty. Preceded in death by brothers Billy J. and Ashel Richardson and sister Barbara Whitworth. Survived by sister Carolyn Richardson.
Art graduated from Central High School in 1950. In 1952, he married Vaynell Mead. That same year, he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1960 after serving in the Korean War. Art and Vaynell resided in Del City where they raised their 3 daughters.
Art is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vaynell, his daughters Victoria Bill and Merrie Schneider of Del City, LaDonna Dorsey (Joseph) of Novato, CA, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A man loved by many; we will keep him in our hearts and share his memories until we see him again.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Children‘s Hospital in Pop’s memory.
Pop’s family would like to thank Encompass Hospice, his wonderful nurses, caregivers, neighbors, and granddaughters, who helped him remain in his home.
