

Arturo Marquez Baquera, age 68, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Arturo was born February 11, 1954 to Jesus Baquera Palacios and Socorro Marquez Baquera in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Arturo attended Anderson High school in El Paso where he played football before relocating to Oklahoma. He retired from the Oklahoma City Water Department where both he and his son, Arturo Jr worked. Arturo or “Tury”, as some knew him, loved fishing, talking about fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He was so proud of his family, especially his son when he won 1st place in the National Karate Championship tournament. He was also a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and his faith was important to him.
Arturo married the love of his life, Emma Baquera (Rios) on July 6, 1976 and they spent 47 wonderful years together.
The family would like to thank Joe Evens, Arturos best friend, for all the memories.
Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Socorro Baquera; brother Angel Baquera; sisters, Emma Corona and Eva Bohonan.
Arturo is survived by his loving wife, Emma Baquera; son, Artruo “Torito” Baquera Jr; brothers, Joe Baquera, Jesse Baquera, and George Baquera; sisters, Estella Nino, Emily Villarruel, Gloria Vega, Emma Corona and Gracie Rios. He was also survived by 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
“Dad was the most kind person you will ever meet. He would lend his ears to anyone and never cut them off. Dad, you will forever be missed.”
Visitation for Arturo will be on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 10 am – 1 pm and Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 10 am – 2 pm. Services will be Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 2 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel located at 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK.
