Avenell Fanning

Glafry Avenell Fanning of Del City, OK passed away February 2, 2018. She was born in Atwood, OK on August 13, 1935, daughter of the late Cleo and Flossie Conner Singleton. Avenell was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Ray whom she was married to for 51 years. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1953. Mrs. Fanning was a career homemaker. Avenell was a member of the Del City Church of Christ where she served many years in the nursery; she also worked with the Meals on Wheels program for over 40 years. Avenell’s greatest joy was being with her family, especially her granddaughter Allison. She is survived by her son Tim Fanning and wife Elizabeth of Midwest City, OK; a brother, Bentley Singleton and wife Glenda of Duncan, OK; a sister, LaWanda Thornton of Duncan, OK; a sister-in-law, Wanda Cochran and husband Elmer of Midwest City, OK; granddaughter, Allison Fanning of Midwest City, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations can be made in Avenell’s name to the Del City Church of Christ Meals on Wheels program.
