

Benny honorably served his country as a US Army Sergeant in the Korean War. He was also a pitcher for the US Army Fast Pitch Softball Team. Benny was a working man, delivering pianos for Jenkins Music Co, managing deliveries for Evans Home Furnishing and later drove an armored vehicle for Loomis.
He enjoyed being outdoors, sports and working around the home. Benny loved music, especially Elvis, he played the guitar and spoke both English and Spanish naturally. Over the years, you might find him helping his family with projects, cheering on his OU Sooners, and often chauffeuring his grandchildren to their many activities. Something he did with pride and love.
Benny believed in Jesus Christ and lived his long life marked with love. Above all, he loved being with his family. He was our friend – all the time. The deep love he held for his family, his generosity of time and steady presence will always be remembered.
His survivors include his sister: Catherine Melendez; sons: Bennie Jr (Skip) and wife Terri; Chris and wife Sandy; Steve and wife Kim; his daughters: Dj and Gina; grandchildren: Valerie Stevens and husband Fred, Amanda Hull, Nick and wife Christine, Josh, Keith Heavner, Kynsey, Zach, Anna, Jairan, Shae, Cherry McElmurry and Jameson Berg; great-grandchildren: Mikaela Ortega and husband Alex, Loghan Stevens, Brylee Stevens, Ashlynne Stevens, Anthony Hull, Kaitlan Haley and husband Joe, Max and wife Hannah, Penelope and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Enriquetta Garcia, Lucia Barker and Lupe Melendez; his brother Ramon Lira; granddaughters: Kathrine, Kristine and Ariana.
A Celebration of Life service for Benny will be held at 10:30am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, located at 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115.
