Betty Jo Baird, 88, of Midwest City, passed away September 6, 2017 in Midwest City. She was born May 10, 1929 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Swinford) Baird. She had lived in the area most of her life. She attended Lee Elementary School in Capitol Hill. Her first grade teacher, Ms. Hare, would later become her son Robert’s first grade teacher as well. Betty was a 1947 graduate of Capitol Hill High School. She retired from Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma, where she served as Executive Secretary to the administrator for many years. Upon her retirement, she worked in sales for Pendleton Clothing. Betty was a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Robert S. Grimes and wife Geri of Leander, Texas and Anthony Toscani of Midwest City; grandchildren, Nicholas Toscani, Addison Toscani, Brooke Grimes and Owen Grimes; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Webb, Lauren Webb, Dorian Toscani and Olivia Toscani. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 2pm at the chapel of Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
