Betty J. Barnett

Betty J. Barnett, age 74, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Betty was born on March 29, 1949 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Yarkin and Mattie Harley. Betty was a certified CNA and spent a majority of her life helping others. In her free time Betty enjoyed sewing and cooking fry bread for her kids and grandkids.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Yarkin and Mattie Harley, son; Richard Pickens, two brothers; Richard Fields, James Fields; and two sisters; Wilma Austin, Christine Johnson and husband Charles Johnson.

Betty is survived by her “husband”; Bennie Barnett, her three daughters; Cassandra Tillman of Oklahoma City, OK , Caryn Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK , Cyndi Lopez and husband Stephen Lopez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her brother; Timothy Fields of Oklahoma City, OK , sister; Lou Ella Downing of Oklahoma City, OK , and brother in law ; Leroy Austin of Oklahoma City, OK. Betty is also survived by eight grandchildren; Christy Barnett, Tira Mitchell, Tiya Mitchell, Elizabeth Lopez, Benecio Lopez, Nino Lopez, Caleb Fixico, and Caden Fixico , four great-grandchildren ; Lauryn Barnett, Seraphina Ortuno, Tobias Ortuno, Ezekiel Ortuno , and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A visitation for Betty will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 S.E 29TH Street, Del City, OK 73115.
