

Member of Del City Nazarene and taught both Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School for about 35 years. Betty served on boards and committees under several pastors. She called on church patrons and was a devoted Christian who put Christ foremost in her life, she prayed for all her family and friends, furthermore she was always there to listen, being a caring soul to so many. Betty had spent time volunteering with the United Faith Organization, Jolly Elders, Senior Adult Ministries, AARP, Salvation Army and was even a Girl Scout, Brownie Leader. She enjoyed reading, gardening, mailing cards to family and friends, and tending to her flowers and rose bushes. In addition Betty had a special servant’s heart, she loved being a mother wife and homemaker plus she felt this was a wonderful rewarding occupation.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman W. Sanders; great-granddaughter, Jalyssa Rodebush; siblings, LeElla Hisaw, Bill Johnson, Audrey Smith, Coleman, Robert, Al, Don “Sunny” and Gurdon Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Rodebush (Harrell); grandsons, Paul Rodebush, Phillip Rodebush (Katy); great grandchildren, Jonathan Rodebush (Lauren), Jordan and Jaydrian Rodebush; great-great-grandchildren, Isabella and Andrew Rodebush. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens.
