

Betty was proud to tell anyone that she was from the very first state, Delaware, and that she graduated from Wilmington H.S. in 1941. She began working at the Cathedral Church of St. John at the age of 17, and would later marry Philip Eugene Rich at the Cathedral, in Wilmington on December 1, 1944. Being a military family, Betty and Phil lived in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington State, Missouri and in 1961 finally settled in Oklahoma. Phil and Betty were married for 39 years when Phil passed, September 10, 1984.
She was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in south OKC. In 1985 she began volunteer work at Will Rogers World Airport, where she served more than 3,500 hours. She was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for 15 years. After a decline in health, Betty moved to Eufaula in 2008 where her daughter Valorie and son-in-law, Chuck could oversee her care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Eugene Rich; and one sister, Doris ‘Virginia’ Dill, and husband Marion. Survivors include her children, Phyllis Puckett and husband Robert of Hinesville, GA, Valorie Pitman and husband Chuck of Eufaula, OK; grandchildren, Robert O. Puckett Jr., and wife Rose of Lafayette, LA, Steve Puckett of Scott, LA, Free Pitman-Jordan and husband Eric of Harrah, OK, Damia Pitman-Vogt and husband Mike of Eufaula, OK; great-grandchildren, Hanna Puckett, Malia and Jonah Jordan, and Cashe and Ariana Vogt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., December 27, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in S. Oklahoma City. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery, Eufaula, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
