On March 15, 1942, she married Rev. Laddie Thornton, who preceded her in death. They pastored Abundant Life Church (formerly known as Del City Pentecostal Holiness Church) for more than 25 years. Faithfully ministering with her husband, Beulah blessed many, cooking and entertaining ministers in their home.
Her love for teaching released her creative abilities as she taught children in Sunday School, children’s church and camps. Her daughters and grand daughters wore dresses she made for them. Her grace and gifts were also released in her professional career as a beautician.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rosa Howard,
brothers, Clyde E. Howard and Donald Howard; sisters, Leota Hamilton and Eva Jean Pickens, her husband, Laddie and one grandson, David Thompson.
Survivors include daughters, Frances Pike (Garnet), of Oklahoma City; Sharon Thompson (Jeff), of Del City; son, Tom Thornton (Carola) of Newalla; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Viewing is open at 2 pm and visitation will be from 6-8pm, July 16, at Sunnylane Funeral Home, Del City, OK. A memorial service will be held at 10 am, July 17, at Destiny Christian Center, 3801 SE 29th St., Del City, OK.
