Billie Mae “NeNaw” Wilson, 83, of Mustang, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, June 22nd, 2012, one week shy of her 84 birthday. She was born on June 29th, 1928 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Otho and Minnie Weatherford. Billie was truly the homemaker and had unconditional love for her family, especially her seven grandchildren and her ever present family dog(s). She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, reading, gardening, fighting with crows over her pecans, watching her dogs chase the squirrels and birds, as well as doing astrology charts and interpreting them for all her family and friends.
Billie was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband of 63 years James D. Wilson, their infant son James D. Wilson, Jr., her sister Virginia Scruggs, brothers Don Weatherford, Hugh and Ruth Weatherford, Charlie Weatherford and Richard W. Stubblefield. She is survived by her son Danny Wilson, daughter Nadine Burch, brothers Bobby and Wanda Weatherford, Jim Stubblefield, and Bud Stubblefield, sisters JoAnn and Bob Schmidt and Wynola Holden. Grandchildren include Nathan Burch, Ryan and Amy Burch, Blake and Tory Burch, Holly and Tom Newell, Wendy and Eddie Ogle as well as Josh and Seth Wilson. Her Great Grandchildren include Ethan, Andrew and Levi Newell, Baylee and Ashlyn Ogle and Mason and Makenna Burch. Billie is also survived by her special, good friend Leon Norwood.
Billie and JD were long time residents of Mustang, OK and watched the town grow up around them. She relished the role of hostess to many family gatherings on her and JD’s 2 acre Ponderosa. The neighbors were all ways greatly amused and sometimes a little alarmed by the loud and robust going-on's of the many family and friends during these get-togethers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 25th from 8am until 8pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. The family will be there between 5:30 – 8:00pm if you wish to stop by then to visit with them.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 26th in the Sunny Lane Funeral Home’s chapel, in Del City, Oklahoma, followed by the burial ceremony and a reception for family and friends in the Sunny Lane Cemetery reception center.
