Anderson, Billy Joe, age 81, Midwest City, OK passed away to join his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born on September 13, 1937 in Pettigrew, AR to Keith and Leota (Keck) Anderson. He married the love of his life, Geneva Anne Ferrel, on May 31, 1957. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geneva, and daughter Vonna Anderson of Midwest City, OK, brothers John Anderson (Ethelene) and James Anderson, plus many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Donna Anderson.
Billy graduated from St. Paul High School and then the University of Arkansas with a degree in Business Administration. He worked at Tinker AFB in Accounting and Finance for the next 34 years. Billy was a lifetime member of the AGA Oklahoma City Chapter. He was also proud to have served in the 137th Support Squadron of the Air National Guard.
Billy accepted the Lord and joined Sooner Baptist Church where he served in many positions for almost 50 years, including Sunday School teacher, deacon and financial secretary. He also enjoyed singing in the choir and working with the little ones in the nursery.
Family visitation will be Friday November 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sooner Baptist Church, 5824 SE 15th, Midwest City, OK on November 17th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sooner Baptist Church nursery fund or Ronald McDonald House.
