MSgt (ret) Booker T. Townsend, 71 passed away on October 15, 2011. MSgt Townsed was born on November 28 1939 in Hattiesburg, MS to Ms. Nellie McMickle and Nathan F. Townsend Sr. MSgt Townsend retired from the United States Air Force with 22 years of service then went on to serve with the US Postal Service for 20 years. He also served as a union representative for the Local #458 National Letter Carrier Association. He was a faithful usher at the Tinker Air Force Base Chapel for 36 years. Booker loved playing horseshoes, dominoes, football and softball. MSgt Townsend is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) (Murray) Townsend, his daughters Jocelyn Townsend and Michelle Townsend, and a son Kelvin Townsend, four nephews and one neice. He is preceded by parents Nellie and Nathan F. Townsend, Sr., and a brother Nathan F. Townsend, Jr. The family will be receiving friends Friday, October 21 from 18:00 until 20:00 hours at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel.
