He was predeceased in death by his father and mother, Luther "Cowboy" and Myrtle Pyatt Blakemore and two brothers, Earl and Bruce.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, former Maxine Wright of the home, a son, Scott Allen Blakemore of Tulsa, OK and a sister, Nadine Tolley of Edmond, OK. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends.
Burl served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and retired from Roberson Steel Co. in 1987 after 42 years.
