Carl Winston Howard was born on March 8, 1935 in the small town of Quinton, Oklahoma. He was raised by his grandparents to attended school in Quinton until high school where his mother, Vera took him to live with her in Oklahoma City. Carl went to work and a few years later he met his bride to be.
On April 26, 1954 he married Betty Joy White. At the time of his passing, they had been married for 64 years. During their life together, they raised two daughters.
Early in their marriage, Carl worked at a grocery store company as an accountant. Then, he joined the United State Postal Service as a carrier. He also joined the National Association of Letter Carriers Union where he remained a member throughout his 37 years of service. He retired out of the Midwest City branch.
In his personal life, Carl had a passion for woodworking. He had a small shop in his backyard where he kept his tools and saws. He spent many hours making bookcases, picture frames and many other items.
The family had lived in Del City several years earlier when the girls were younger. Then, Carl bought 5 acres and they moved to Tecumseh for 5 years. In 1976, Carl purchased a house once again in Del City and moved his family back.
Carl was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and step father. He is survived by his wife Betty, of the home in Del City, his daughter Sharon and husband Dennis Brown of Piedmont, daughter Carol Hobbs of Del City, 3 granddaughters; Tina and husband Brian Johnson of Piedmont, Denise Brown of Piedmont, and Angela Marcus of Midwest City; 3 great grandsons, Brandon and Jacob of Piedmont, and Ajoue of Midwest City.
Visitation is Monday, December 10 from 12pm to 8pm, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home .The Funeral Service is December 11 at 10am, followed by burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery
