Carolyn Sue (Hobbs) Frazier, aka “Carol,” passed away quietly on December 8, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on March 28, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, to Elvin Thomas Hobbs and Dora Dean (Hunton) Hobbs. In 1952 the family moved to Portales, New Mexico, where she remained until 1968 when they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and finally settling down in Oklahoma City in 1973.
After high school Carol obtained a BS in in Home Economics from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM where she was awarded a certificate in Secondary Home Economics so she could become an educator. Cooking for her family was one of her most favorite things but she also loved going to Mexican restaurants with family also. Carol loved to laugh, loved having a good time, and loved doing silly dances. Carol was also a lover of country music, but her favorite song was “Wind beneath my Wings” by Bette Midler.
Carol met and married Kenneth Wayne Frazier and together they experienced true marital bliss for more than 32 years before his passing in 2005.
Carol’s favorite color was red and she had the warmest spirit with a most gentle personality. She was such a demonstration of God’s unconditional love by her humble heart and her works. Carol lived for her family, children, grandchildren, the beach, and cats! But she also enjoyed creating: designing clothes, jewelry, painting, and road trips to see family.
Carol wanted to be remembered as honest; someone who never met a stranger, had an incredibly loving heart and lived her life selflessly for her family and others.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Thomas Elvin Hobbs of Portales, NM, and her sister Frances Louise “Penny” Dresie also of Portales, NM.
She leaves to cherish her memory her Son Stephen Ronald Sigmon and wife Melissa of Fort Pierce, Florida, son Kevin Lee Frazier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and her daughter Kimberly Michelle Abrams and husband Bryan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sister Doralene Pearl Braun and her husband Bill of Hobbs, NM, and Sister Cynthia Etchepareborde of Portales, NM, and four grandchildren, Tyler Stephen Sigmon, Zachariah Erich Sigmon, Kadence Alexandria Abrams, and Kailee Lauren Abrams.
Carol will truly be missed!
