Carolyn Sue Stacy

Carolyn Sue Jones Stacy, born August 10, 1949, at Midwest City Hospital in Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away at the age of 77. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, homemaker, and friend whose greatest joy was caring for the people she loved.

Carolyn was the daughter of John C. Jones and Betty Jo Jones. She spent much of her life in Oklahoma and made her home in Del City, where she lived with her daughter, Kelli.

Carolyn was married to William Robert Stacy Jr., a Vietnam veteran on August 30, 1968, and together they built a family that remained at the center of Carolyn's life. She was a loving mother to Kelli Stacy-Seay and Brian Stacy, and a cherished grandmother to Lillian Seay, Michael Stacy and his wife Elisabeth, Ella Seay, Jake Stacy, Ava Seay-Iglinski and her husband Tim, Sydnee Stacy, Emma Stacy, and Egan Stacy. She also held a special place in the lives of her sisters Marilyn Pebsworth and Connie Phelps...her best friends. She had 4 nieces Lori Pebsworth, Heather Glueck, Jimmie Blessing and Aimee Pebsworth that were a big part of her life.

Carolyn was a woman of many interests and a wonderfully curious mind. She loved to read and, when her children were growing up, she could often be found reading a novel every day. She loved DOGS, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and just about any kind of word game, and playing Yatzee each morning and drinking a diet Dr. Pepper became one of her favorite routines. She enjoyed 60's, 70's and 80's music, studying ancient history, with a particular fascination for Egyptology, and she also practiced yoga. She loved bowling on teams with her family.

Carolyn was also an amazing cook. Her generosity extended far beyond her kitchen, however. She had a giving heart and wanted the people around her to be happy including the friends of Kelli and Brian. She gave so much of herself to her family, especially her Husband, children, grandchildren, sisters and parents. She will be remembered for her love, generosity, intelligence, curiosity, uniqueness and the countless ways she made the people in her life feel cared for.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, John C. Jones; her husband, William Robert Stacy Jr.; her grandmother, Helen Brothers; her mother, Betty Jo Jones; her stepfather, Ralph C. Jones; her brother-in-law, Wayne Phelps; and her brother-in-law, Gary Pebsworth.

She is survived by her children, Kelli Stacy-Seay and Brian Stacy; her grandchildren, Lillian Seay, Michael Stacy and his wife Elisabeth, Ella Seay, Jake Stacy, Ava Seay-Iglinski and her husband Tim, Sydnee Stacy, Emma Stacy, and Egan Stacy, and her sisters, Connie Phelps and Marilyn Pebsworth...her best friends, along with extended family and loved ones who will carry her memory forward.

Carolyn gave her all to the people and dogs she loved. She was the kind of woman whose presence became part of the fabric of a family—the one who cooked, read, played games, shared what she had, and wanted everyone to be happy. Her family will remember not only the things she did for them, but the love behind everything she did.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
