Carolyn Gayle Whitlock

Carolyn Gayle Whitlock, 84, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Noble, Oklahoma, surrounded by family. Though she spent her final years living with her granddaughter, Andi Wade and her family in Norman, Carolyn lived the majority of her life in Oklahoma City, where she built a life full of love, laughter, and resilience.

Born on September 6, 1940, in Rosedale, Oklahoma, to Naomi and M.T. Blackburn, Carolyn faced more than her share of trials and tribulation, but she grew into a woman of strength, wit, independence, and unwavering loyalty.

She worked as the Office Manager at Jackson Roofing for 40 years, where she not only kept operations running smoothly, but also earned a reputation for keeping everyone in line with her sharp mind and sense of humor.

Carolyn found joy in the simple pleasures — solving puzzles, an occasional trip to the casino, card games, and, most of all, spending time with her cherished family. Her legacy is one of love, determination, and laughter.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Deborah Brown and her husband, Rick, of Norman; Paula Jackson and her husband, Richard, also of Norman; and LaDonna Eastep and her husband, DJ, of Luther. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Andi Wade (Jason), Brad Jackson (Kim), Mallory Bogard (Brandon), Lakyra Henry (Tim), Shelby Murphy (Joe), Jamie Eastep (Jessica), Alayna Thurman (Dalton), Carley Cook (Zak), Nathan Eastep, Kevin Eastep, Aaliyah Clayton, Hannah Eastep, Maliyah Clayton, Imani Clayton, and Zaniyah Clayton. Her nine great-grandchildren: Talon Voight, Brooklyn Jackson, Ava Wade, Braden Jackson, Kamden Henry, Marissa Henry, Briley Jackson, Makenzie Henry, and Rayven Thurman. Finally, she is survived by her sister Marilyn Bristow, and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her 7 brothers, and her beloved son, Manny Whitlock.

Her warmth, wisdom, contagious laughter, wicked sense of humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
