

Cathy was born Nov. 15, 1966 to Bill and Paula Mansfield in Enid OK, and died Wed. Feb 26, 2025 in Del City, OK at the age of 58. Cathy was the youngest of five children born in the family. Being born with Down’s Syndrome, Cathy lived at home with her mother the majority of her life, enjoying several activities, including sewing latch hook rugs that were proudly displayed in her home. Also displayed on the walls of her bedroom were the ribbons and medals she received participating in the Special Olympics in Stillwater, OK.
Cathy was a member of First Baptist Church, Enid, OK. She attended with her mother each Sunday and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 15.
Cathy attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1986 and participated in the May Fete Ceremony her senior year. After graduation, she worked at Opportunity Productions, Inc (OPI), until OPI’s closure. Cathy enjoyed worked with her friends each day and eating her lunch with them before taking the bus home in the afternoon.
Cathy was a big OSU fan and loved watching OSU play football on TV. She also loved watching the OKC Thunder play.
After the death of Cathy’s mother, she moved to Oklahoma City to live with her sister and brother-in-law. It was a big adjustment for Cathy leaving her beloved Enid, but came to enjoy the home-cooked meals and TV watching with Don and Connie. She traveled to Colorado with Don and Connie, their children and grandchildren the first Christmas Cathy lived in OKC. Cathy did not snow ski with the rest of the family, but she and her sister, Connie, did enjoy watching the others ski. Traveling out of town became harder for Cathy as time went by. Cathy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and required more personalized care. The last year of her life Cathy lived at Homestead Assisted Living Center of Del City in their memory care unit. She received excellent care there and loved her many caregivers. Many thanks go the staff at Homestead of Del City for their generous love and care they showered on Cathy. In return, she gave them her hugs and kisses.
Cathy is survived by her brother, Bill Mansfield and wife Diana; sister, Connie Lacourse and husband Don; their children, Don Lacourse Jr; Jenny Snow and husband Daniel, their children Hannah, Thomas and Lydia; Tim Lacourse; sister Sherri Fuksa and husband Bruce; their children, Chloe Fuksa and Ellie Hill and husband Harrison.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, William Mansfield, Sr; her mother, Paula Mansfield, and her sister, Carol Mansfield.
The graveside services for Cathy Ann Mansfield will be at Enid Cemetery, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
