

Cayetano “Caye” G. Montaño was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world on November 17, 2021 at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife Nettie M. Montaño of Del City, Oklahoma, mother Joaquina G. Montaño of Tucson, Arizona, nine children, Caye and Sherri Montaño of California, Miguel and Edith Montaño of California, Angel and Maribel Montaño of Nevada, Jackie and Sandra Montaño of Arizona, Frenchie and Nick Cuadra of Oklahoma, Debbie and Robert Walker of Oklahoma, Joey Rivera Jr. of Oklahoma, Cris Rivera of Arizona, Joey Rivera (deceased), and David Rivera (deceased), twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Caye served his country proudly in the US Army. Following his time in the US Army he worked as a school bus driver in Delano, California where he met his wife, Nettie. Caye and Nettie moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1985 where Caye worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 years. Caye was a skilled golfer and softball enthusiast and he loved to teach his children and grandchildren about sports. After retiring from the postal service Caye loved spending time fishing, gardening and taking his beloved wife to the casino. Caye and Nettie moved to Del City, Oklahoma in 2018 where two of their daughters, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren live.
His battle with serious medical issues in the last year showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Caye came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. His easy-going attitude and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
