Celeste Elaine Dollarhide

Celeste was born on February 9, 1921, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Ella Allen Burgess and Ben Townsend. She attended Haskell High School and proudly served her country in the United States Army.

Celeste married Joseph William Dollarhide, and together they built a life centered on family and love. They were blessed with one son, Stephen "Steve" Dollarhide.

Following her military service, Celeste enjoyed a long career as a Clerical Aide at Tinker Air Force Base before retiring.

Celeste was a woman of many talents and interests. An avid artist, she found joy in painting and crafting. She loved shopping and had a remarkable eye for fashion, always keeping up with the latest styles. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens and was an enthusiastic sports fan. She loved her Native American culture; a lot of her artwork expressed that love. She was proud to be Yuchi, Muscogee Creek, and Choctaw. Her creativity, independence, and zest for life remained with her throughout her 105 years.

Celeste is survived by several distant cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Stephen "Steve" Dollarhide; her husband, Joseph William Dollarhide; her parents, Ella Allen Burgess and Ben Townsend; and her sisters, Ann Alice Townsend and June Bass.

A graveside service will be held at Allen Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Celeste's legacy of service, creativity, strength, and enduring spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
