Charles was a substitute mail carrier for seven years and in 1969 he built the Dan-Dee Drive-Inn that the whole family operated for four years. They also bought land in Colorado for family get-togethers in 1985 which Charles & Sylvia immensely enjoyed sharing with others. His love of his family and friends was second only to his love for God. He loved to help people and never refused to help anyone, often at much cost to himself. He was a gentle Christian who was strong in his faith, and much loved by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Joyce and Mary Alice and his son-in-law Gary Patterson. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, his 3 children, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
