Claire Cooper, 92, of Oklahoma City, passed away July 18, 2015. She was born in 1922 in Washington, PA to Ernest and Minnie Wherry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Cooper, parents and brothers - Paul and Howard Wherry.
Claire was a long time member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church of Midwest City, helping out with many church bazaars. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes, quilting, cross stitch and was an expert knitter. And, she made the best mac and cheese. Together, Claire and Bill visited nearly every state in the union and enjoyed many of our nation’s memorable monuments and parks.
Survivors include son William and wife Debra of OK, granddaughter Anna and husband Tommy of CO, great grandsons Tommy and Cooper, daughter Janet and husband Jack of TX, sister-in-law Anna and husband John of PA, and numerous nieces and nephew.
Friends are invited to attend a gravesite service 10 am, Thursday, July 23, at Arlington Memorial Garden, Oklahoma City, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
