Connie Sue Lambertus was born March 8, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jimmie Florene Davis-Ledbetter of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and Ray Winsett Davis of Hartford, Arkansas. In 1979 she married her best friend Larry Lambertus. This precious union of hearts brought about a family that she faithfully loved and served all her years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
While fighting a good fight and showing her ways to be courageous, she left her earthly home Sunday afternoon, August, 9, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Connie had fought this battle with dignity, courage, resilience and with strength that will leave a lasting impression with her family. One that will prove to be a positive influence on her family for generations to come.
Connie was very civic-minded while not only being a lifetime Girl Scout but also served many years as a Girl Scout leader, Cub and Boy Scout leader right along side her husband, Larry. They always took not only their parental responsibilities seriously but also their place in the community to help and serve where they could make a difference especially when it came to the children and youth of their community. It never failed that Connie could be found supplying the needs of the Boy Scout troop at "The Trading Post" of the Boy Scout Jamboree, making available all kinds of snacks and supplies to those who would find themselves hungry. Connie and Larry both thought it important to blend their love for family with their love for the Scouting program.
Connie had a long and successful career even before she came to the Tax Commission. She had gained invaluable experience working for the Midwest City Tag Office since she was a senior in high school. She spent a total of 29 years working and building knowledge in the field of Motor Vehicle tags and license through this tag agency. Little did she realize the wealth of knowledge that she was gaining and would bring that to Oklahoma Tax Commission department of Motor Vehicles as an auditor in the month of May 2005 and later to become Supervisor of the Imaging epartment. She was scheduled to retire from the Oklahoma Tax Commission October 1 and has been there 16 years in May. She faithfully fulfilled her duties for OTC in serving the taxpayers of Oklahoma.
Connie was preceded in death by her Father Ray Winsett Davis in 1984 and her mother Jimmie Florene Davis-Ledbetter in 1996. Connie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Larry Lambertus, daughter Michelle Patrecia Lambertus and fiancé Lonnie Franklin, son Michael Patrick Lambertus and wife Jolena with grandchildren Everett, Michael Jr., Stormy, Mason and a great grandchild, Joel and her favorite brother Michael Ray Davis.
