Curtis Jackson "Jock" Sanders

Curtis Jackson “Jock” Sanders passed away 6/23/08 with his wife, Molly, of 60 years by his side. Jock was born 4/18/27 in Trousdale, OK and served in the 188th Regiment of the 11th Airborne Division of the US Army as a Private 1st Class Paratrooper during WWII until his honorable discharge on 1/15/47.

Jock was the second son to Thomas and Ruby Sanders. He is preceded in death by both parents, his brother Benjamin and his sister Mary Belle Barnett. He is survived by Ruby Burris, Chowchilla, CA, Vivian Hoofard, Red Bluff, CA, Wynona Jones, DeQueen, AR, Tommy Sanders, Kingfisher, OK and Jerry Sanders, Wanette, OK.

His children are Wayne Sanders and wife Judy of Moore, James Sanders and wife Regina of Moore, Dennis Sanders and wife Denise of Eufaula, Cindy Burditt of OKC, and Ann Manchester and husband Ted of OKC. He had 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, plus numerous other family members and friends.

Jock retired from POMCO after a lifetime career as an oilfield machinist. His hobbies included: gardening, hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a wonderful husband, father and Poppa and will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 27, 2008 at Sunny Lane Chapel with burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
