David F. Goodacre was born October 24, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Goodacre. He and Hugh Ann Greenhaw were united in marriage on February 8, 1964 in Morris, Oklahoma. David was a Diesel Program Instructor for 25 years. He taught at the Kiamichi Vocational Technical School from 1970-1971 in Hugo, Oklahoma; from 1971-1982 at the Central Vocational Technical School in Drumright, Oklahoma and from 1987-2000 at the Pioneer Area Vocational Technical School in Ponca City. David was selected by the Mid-American Curriculum Consortium as the representative for the State of Oklahoma and helped write the diesel curriculum. During his tenure, his students won numerous state VICA awards. David loved to rebuild classic cars, but his passion was his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his loving wife, Hugh Ann. He was a member of the Moore First Baptist Church and a former member of the Payne County Sheriff’s Posse and Payne County Civil Defense. David was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Tony Gray; and his siblings, Ida Nell Hall, Patrick Goodacre and Robert Goodacre. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hugh Ann Goodacre of Moore; daughter, Cindy Elaine Gooding of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Amber Watts, Shae Gooding, Blaze Gray, Jared Gray, Zaria Gray and Alexa Gray; great-grandchildren, Asher Watts and Arilynd Albright; a host of nephews and a niece. Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2pm at the Chapel of Sunny Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Clarkson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
