Devota “Mac” McClung passed away on November 8th, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Mac was born on October 1st, 1923 in Marshall, Arkansas to C.A. and Novel McClung. He graduated from Central High School and attended Oklahoma A&M before entering the military. He served three years in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II, serving on the USS Signet as a Sonar Technician. After the war, he married the love of his life Helen Burkhart on September 18, 1948. He opened McClung Upholstery Company, then worked at Sears & Roebuck where he was a drapery workroom supervisor and service technician. Retiring in 1980, he enjoyed many years of travel and adventures with his wife, Helen. He loved to fish, spend time with his family, and there wasn’t a Crypto-quote puzzle he couldn’t solve. He is preceded in death by his brother and parents. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his son Mark with wife Teri; his daughter Clara Terranova with husband Peter; his sister Dalena Wakelee; two grandsons, Jonah with wife Amanda, and Lucas McClung; two granddaughters, Rachel and Emily Terranova; and three great-grandsons, Shane, Kade, and Kody McClung, all of Oklahoma City. Mac will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was a great example of both husband and father as anyone could find. The family would like the thank the staff of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital for the kindness and dedicated care they took of Mac. Visitation will be at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, Friday November 9th, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with family receiving friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. I knew Mac as a gentle, nice man who loved his family very much and was so proud of his grandchildren. He was a good hugger. He has a very place in the heart of my brother Pete, who will miss his sense of humor I'm sure.
Thinking of you all.
