He retired after 30 years of service at TAFB. His passion was working on motorcycles and saying “it’s all about the ride”. He always would give a helping hand to those in need and at the end was able to give two gifts of life.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Andrew Evans, Jr and Velma Autry (Hendrickson) Evans, and his son Donald “Donnie” Evans II. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Flynn Evans; grandsons Austin Peeler and Steven Peeler; granddaughter Katelyn Flynn; brother Ken Evans and wife Carla; sisters Brenda Benkley and husband James, Vickie Alvis and Robin Alvis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 4, 2016 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
