Dorothy Mae Haley was born on August 10, 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born to James Earl Miller and Claudia Mae Miller. She attended Capitol Hill High School. She later married John Haley. She worked as a decorator and her hobbies were her family, Friday night cards, flower gardening, and crocheting. Her greatest achievement was raising her children with honor and her proudest moment was when her 7 grandchildren and her 2 great-grandchildren were born. She attended the First Pentecostal Church of God. Her family included daughters Christie Resma, Kay Hollingsworth, and step-daughter Lisa Haley; and son Jay Resma, and stepson Tim Haley; and brother Curtis Moore and sister Gail Carter.
