

Duane Carroll Crabaugh was born on December 25, 1931 to Loren and Anna Crabaugh in Adair, OK. He graduated from Adair High School in 1949. Shortly after, he proudly joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Upon discharge, Duane attended college on a GI Bill and obtained his Bachelor and Masters Degrees while also playing baseball for NEO in Miami, OK and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah respectively. While at NEO he met and married the love of his life, Frieda Denney, enjoying 65 years of marriage. Duane started his coaching career at Webber Falls, OK in 1958, where he won a state championship in 1960. He coached at Del City HS from 1964 to 1972. During that time he achieved over 200 high school wins and coached the 1968 South All-State team to a win. In 1973 he accepted the job at Oscar Rose Junior College where he coached for 21 years and ended his College coaching career in 1994 with 507 wins.
Duane was a member of the Oklahoma Coaches Association since 1959. He was a charter member of the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association. He was inducted into three Hall of Fames: The Oklahoma Baseball Coaches HOF, the National Junior College HOF and the Rose State College HOF.
Duane enjoyed a great life and career and an even better retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and extended family at their lake house on Grand Lake. He enjoyed OCU baseball and softball games, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He most enjoyed watching the sports and activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. If there was a game or activity, whether in Oklahoma or Texas, Duane and Frieda were there!

Duane passed peacefully at his home July 21, 2022 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Frieda; daughter Kim and husband Mike Judd; daughter-in-law Sue Crabaugh; grandchildren, Kaylee and husband Ted Hans, Mindy and husband Landon Camp, Ryan Judd, Cody and wife Rachel Crabaugh, Zach Judd, Amy Crabaugh and ten great grandchildren. He also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his sons, Toby and Denney Crabaugh.

A memorial service for Duane will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00am at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to any charity of your choice.
