

EDGAR H. TAYLOR SMSgt. (Retired)
Dad went to be with his Lord on his 100th birthday. He was the 6th and youngest son of John L. and Sarah Taylor. He was born near Roff, OK. In 1932, he married his beloved Addie (King). They had almost 68 years together before her death in 2000. Two sons were born to them, Don and James.
His military career began in 1928 with the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Division. He was a WWII veteran and saw combat in the Philippines. After being a civilian from 1945-1950 he enlisted in the Air National Guard at Tinker Air Force Base and was activated shortly. He served in France, Korea, Germany and four Air Force Bases in the United States. He retired in 1966 and moved back to Del City.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandson Larry Taylor and by his brothers and their wives: Ambrose (Grace), Everett (Elsie), Luther (Bessie), Arthur (Bernadine) and S.Q. (Nonie). A sister, Esther, died in 1906.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons James and Don, Don’s wife Billie and his grandchildren and their families; Greg and Becky Taylor, Sarah and Kate, Tim and Deborah Taylor, Laura, Adam and Anna, and Jim and Melissia Johnson, Lauren and Addie and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Edgar and Addie both became Christians shortly after their marriage and served the Lord wherever the military sent them. Edgar was a longtime member of Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church, 4500 S.E. 31st St., Del City, OK where his services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Public viewing/visitation will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m.
