

Edith Claire Coffman, 80, a long time resident of Del City, OK passed away on August 21, 2012 at Timberwood Assisted Living Memory Care Unit. The youngest of three, Edith was born September 12, 1931 in Crookston, MN to Alexander and Amelia (Radi) Huotte. Edith worked at the local library and graduated valedictorian of her high school class. She received her teaching degree through Hampton University in Michigan. It was there that she met a young military man who became the love of her life, Donald Adrian. Coffman. They were married and moved back to Don’s home state of Oklahoma where Edith taught second and third grade at Prairie Queen Elementary School for over 32 years. In her younger days, she loved spending time at her Uncle Emil and Aunt Elise Luckow cabin on Union Lake swimming and water skiing; she loved traveling, bowling, playing bingo, cards, and slot machines. She was a real joy to be around and deeply loved those closest to her. Edith is proceed in death by her parents (Alex and Amelia); Sister - Eleanor Huotte-Anderson and husband, Robert (Bob) on Fisher, MN; her Brother, whom she loved dearly, Irvin; his sons (her nephews) Timothy, Curtis, Jeffrey and Denis Huotte. Donald, Edith’s very loving husband of 53 years, left us last year to prepare their place and waits for her in heaven.
She is survived by their only child, Kathy S. Padilla; two granddaughters - Tanaia L. Thomas and Sara Don Padilla; grandsons - Braden Thomas and Ryker Adrian Padilla; her brother-in-law, Larry J. Coffman, Sr. and his wife Becki; nephews and niece - Brian (his wife Stephanie) Coffman; Brent Coffman and Amy Beth Coffman, great-nephews; Bryce and Quinn Coffman as well as several other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2pm in the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
