

Elmo proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. He worked as a foreman of jet engine repair at Tinker Air Force Base. After retirement from TAFB, he was employed by the state until his retirement in the late 80’s. Elmo loved gardening and had a green thumb. When he had a garden, he supplied family and friends with all the tomatoes, okra, and strawberries they could eat.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kenneth Edwards and Helen Barnhill; daughter, Jacqueline, and son, Alan. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Betty; children, Kathy Rhodes (Bill), Jenny Harris (Donald), Angela Edwards; grandchildren, Sarah Harris, Paige Collins and Amy Flowers. The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation and gratitude to his home health nurses, Deborah and Betsy, and home health aides, Linda, Glory and Kesha.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
