Ernest S. “Ernie” Green, Jr., 77, a man with a strong will and a huge heart, passed away on May 6, 2012, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Ernie was born on June 23, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Ernest Sloan and Hattie Josephine (Eskew) Green, Sr.
Ernie was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching old cowboy movies, driving his red Chevy pickup truck and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven A. Green; brothers, Tom and John Green. Survivors include his daughter, Teri Bruehl (Jerry Jones), Frank Bruehl (Jan); grandchildren, Roni Grimes (Matt), Chris Bruehl; great-grandchildren, Carlton Bruehl, Mason and Madilynn Grimes, Kennedy and Sloan Bruehl.
The visitation will start on Wednesday, at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m., and also on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel.
