Eva Maye Kezer was born on October 27, 1931, but she was called Judy right from the start. Judy grew up in Okemah, Oklahoma, with her parents Jim and Jeannetta Kezer and four siblings. A dark-haired, blue-eyed beauty, she attended Okemah High School and played drums in the marching band. She graduated in 1949 with 59 others in her class, including a red-headed boy named Jim Williams.
On March 1, 1951, while Jim was home on leave from the Navy, Judy and Jim married at her parents’ home in Okemah. The couple soon had two daughters, Donna Kay and Judith Lynn, and settled into a beautiful life.
Jim and Judy were longtime residents of Midwest City and faithful members of Meadowood Baptist Church.
As an employee of the Mid-Del School District’s Administration for almost 40 years, Judy used her typing and finance skills to keep the office running smartly. As a volunteer, she worked diligently with the Education Support Personnel Organization (ESPO) and as a hospital volunteer.
Jim and Judy enjoyed retirement, as they spent time traveling with family and visiting with their Class of ‘49 Panther classmates. Judy loved taking cruises and road trips, shopping with the girls, working the booth at arts & crafts fairs, and seeing family and friends. She organized many of the Williams family reunions, making sure the family always stayed close. She called everyone “honey” and especially doted on the babies.
Judy passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, unaware of the global pandemic around her and completely surrounded in love. She leaves behind her heartbroken high school sweetheart Jim, her husband of 69 years. She will also be dearly missed by her two daughters, Donna Barnes of Norman, Oklahoma, and Judi Drennan of Del City, Oklahoma. She is Mom-a to four grandchildren: Nathan Drennan, Matthew Barnes, Deidra Olsen, and Sarah Berry. And she is the world’s best GiGi to ten great-grandchildren.
