Many of Freda’s favorite memories were swimming and fishing with her sisters in the Susquehanna River. As a child, Huggie carried her on his shoulders to school every morning and shortly after she graduated high school, they wed. Stories of their “romance” were often heard during their 53 years of marriage together. He was truly the love of her life! Dinner nights twice a week with Dave and Jeanette Dobkins, Donnie and Virginia, grand and great grandchildren were the highlight of her week. Freda loved the Dobkins and Brown families as her own. She enjoyed watching Nascar, the Thunder and OU/OSU football games. Freda was often outside tending to her yard and gardens, talking to her dear neighbors and keeping a close eye on their street.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and attended Sunny Lane United Methodist Church for many years. Freda had a kind and gentle spirit as she touched so many lives. Freda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald (Huggie) Isaac Huggins, Sr.; siblings, Edith Kirvinskee, Susan Hogston, Rita Horst, Donald and Mike Kirvinskee. Survivors include her son, Donald I. Huggins, Jr., wife, Virginia; granddaughters, Nicole Huggins-House and Noelle Huggins; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Zane and Saylor and beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
